TBS – Terminal Bersepadu Selatan Bus Terminal
Since opening in 1st Jan 2011, the authority in Malaysia has restructured the express bus industry to gather all south-bound bus operators to depart from TBS. The main objective of this change is to alleviate the congestion in the heart of Kuala Lumpur centre by moving the express buses out from it. The six-storey terminal building consists of:
- Bus terminal at first floor
- Departure and Arrival platform at second floor
- Passenger lobby, ticketing counters and convenient shops at concourse floor (or third floor)
- Restaurants and retail shops at fourth floor
- Parking area at fifth and sixth floor
After few years of operation in TBS, to certain extent, traffic at Kuala Lumpur centre has improved. However, moving the arrival point from Pudu Sentral to TBS has brought some inconvenience to tourists and visitors because TBS is 20-30 minutes driving distance away from Kuala Lumpur centre or Bukit Bintang golden triangle area.
